July 23, 2019 – It’s Jeff Coffey week on Rock History Music. We premiered his new video yesterday. There’s a link to the video right at the top of the description of this video. It’s a great cover John Waite and the Babys Hit, “Back on My Feet Again.” When Peter Cetera left Chicago in the ’80s his replacement was Jason Scheff who was with them until 2016. That’s when Jeff Coffee stepped in as vocalist and bassist. But he left in 2018 citing their crazy touring schedule. Scheff was there when he auditioned for Chicago so he knew him but Peter Cetera well he met him not that long ago.
It’s Jeff Coffey week on Rock History Music. Join us at 1PM central each weekday this week for our five part conversation with Jeff at 1PM eastern. Tomorrow Jeff will reflect on his days with Chicago. He joined the band in 2016 and left in 2018. We talked to him right after he left but we’ll see how he looks at that experience now. John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 35 years and a music journalist since 1989. He graduated from Broadcasting school as a newsman so he would have the skills to write about the artists that inspired him since he bought his first album, “Madman Across The Water” by Elton John as a teen. In the ’80s Beaudin was the host of the syndicated radio show “The Cross Canada Report” which had two versions (Rock and A/C). Beaudin was also asked to be a judge at the Juno Awards (Canada’s answer to the Grammys) Twice. He has anchored every position in radio including morning and afternoon drive and was a Program and Music Director for The Breeze and California 103 in Calgary. He currently hosts the popular Lovesongs at QM-FM in Vancouver and on iHeartRadio.
