A man with an amazing resume going back to the mid-50’s. He was a well known Canadian who had constant work more as a character actor.

In the 60’s he had guest roles in the TV show “Maverick with James Garner, “Cheyenne” with Clint Walker, Bonanza, Mr Ed, Wagon Train, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Virginian, Mannix, Tarzan, and Ironside. In the 70′ we say him guesting on Mission: Impossible, The New Perry Mason, Police Story, He was a regular in the Canadian TV drama “Sidestreet.” There was also Wonder Woman and The Littlest Hobo. He also had a recurring role as Dutch Leitner in Soap. By the 80’s There was The facts of life, He has a regular role in the short lived Michael Keaton series “Report to Murphy.” There’s more Cheers, Taxi, Magnum, P.I., Hill Street Blues, Alice and Golden Girls. He had a big hit in Canada with “Danger Bay” from 1985 to 1990 He was also on Street Legal Murder She Wrote, The X-Files, and The Outer Limits. He played Detective Leo Shannon on Da Vinci’s Inquest where he won a Gemini award. He was on 36 episodes of Battlestar Galactica from 2004 and 2009.

He was also in the movies, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969.

Rhodes died today at a Hospice in Maple Ridge, B.C. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and was awarded the Gemini Earle Grey Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2006. He is also part of the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame with a star on Granville Street’s Star Walk in Vancouver. – by John Beaudin

John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 33 years and a music journalist since 1989. He graduated from Broadcasting school as a news man so he would have the skills to write about the artists that inspired him since he bought his first album, “Madman Across The Water” by Elton John as a teen. In the 80’s Beaudin was the host of the syndicated radio show “The Cross Canada Report” which had two version (Rock and A/C). Beaudin was also asked to be a judge at the Juno Awards (Canada’s answer to the Grammys) Twice. He has anchored every position in radio including morning and afternoon drive and was a Program and Music Director for The Breeze and California 103 in Calgary. He currently hosts the popular Lovesongs at QM-FM in Vancouver and on iHeartRadio.
