Toto Fans Send Lots Of Love To David Paich Toto’s “40 Trips Around The Sun” tour continues in Vancouver on Monday Night (I will be there). The fans are pumped but they’re also thinking of Toto’s maestro David Paich who is sitting out of this tour. The band said in a statement, “The recent European appearances took a toll on his personal well-being, and it is in his best interests to forego the impact the rigorous wear and tear being on the road brings until he is feeling 100 percent. He plans on focusing on his health, and looks forward to returning to the road when ready to do so.”

When we first reported this it was heartwarming to hear from so many Toto fans who instead of grabbing their pitchforks in anger went straight to an undiluted, “get well soon.” Why? Well Toto fans are prety cool and David Paich has earned it. Besides being a good guy look at the body of work he’s created. Well beyond all the Toto albums Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” his discography would be impressive shared between 100 artists. My son Chase, who is a huge Jeff Porcaro fans and has done lots ot Toto drum covers on YouTube offered to created this backdrop of as many David Paich associated album covers as he could find – at least some of the biggers one. He started at 8 in the morning and was only done with Toto’s latest “best of” at 11PM. Chase is very familiar with Toto’s music and Boz Scaggs and Michael Jackson but my 14-year old came up to me and said, “Man, this guy is a God, where did he get the time to do all this.”

David Paich a few of your friends have something to tell you. David, take all the time, get well.

Toto’s “40 Trips Around The Sun,” as mentioned, starts in Vancouver on Monday and runs until Nov 17th in Lynn, Massachusetts.
