Alan Parsons: That First Abbey Road Experience Was Not What You Think
April 10, 2019 – Alan Parsons latest album (His 5th non-“Project” CD/LP) is “The Secret.” Check out our sister YouTube Channel “Rock History Book” on April 26th for our exclusive interview with Alan as he takes us through every song on the album.

As many of you know Parsons had great success even before the first Alan Parsons Project album, “Tales of Mystery and Imagination.” The Edgar Allen Poe inspired concept album from 1976. He was an Assistant Engineer on the Beatles Abbey Road studios. He was also an engineer of on Pink Floyd’s “Atom Heart Mother” in 1970 and their classic “Dark Side of the Moon” in 1973. There was also engineering for the Hollies and mixing for Ambrosia when they were proggy in the mid-seventies. As a producer, there were the first few Pilot albums, Al Stewart, John Miles and again Ambrosia among others. On this, part one of our series on Alan Parsons, we talk about his first experience at Abbey Road studios. It’s not what you think. (Clip 017)

As mentioned Parsons will release his new album on April 26th. I asked him about performing the new songs from “The Secret” in concert. (Clip 001)

We will have more from our chat on Alan Parsons next week. Remember Alan will be our special guest on April 26th to premiere his new album and will talk about every track from the project on our sister YouTube channel Rock History Book. There will be links below. – by John Beaudin
