Interview Clip #1- Interview – Bill Bruford On Why He Left Yes & His New Box Set
July 27, 2019 – When Bill Bruford left Yes many were scratching their head. The band was taking off after two huge albums and arguably their best “Fragile” and “Close to the Edge.” He’s been asked before but we had to ask for his perspective now on why he left Yes.
Bill Bruford has just released his new 20 CD/4DVD box set from his former band Earthworks an acoustic/electronic Jazz fusion band which at one point including multi-instrumentalist Django Bates and saxophonist Iain Ballamy. I asked him how it felt looking back and putting this together.
This is a 13 part series with Bill Bruford and we will be talking about his time in Yes, Genesis, retirement, much more on Earthworks and drumming challenges. Keep in mind last year we talked to Bruford’s replacement in Yes Alan White. We will put links to that collection in the description of this video. – by John Beaudin
